MRU: Costs Summer/Fall 2012 Despite rising costs, MRU has NOT INCREASED FEES this year. Last year, we changed our fee structure to a “One Fee” model, which we will continue with for this year. It is important to note that we have not raised any fees. We have eliminated the monthly club dues, and rolled them into a sum which includes registration, uniform, coach pay, field dues, and other expenses. In doing so, we eliminated much of the burden of collecting monthly fees placed on team treasurers and providing parents a more transparent cost assessment at the beginning of the season. We are offering two payment options: 1) Pay total amount at registration, or 2) Pay dues in 3 installments. Families who volunteer 10 hours will receive a $100 rebate, excluding volunteering for the Redwood Classic. All MRU families are expected to volunteer at the Redwood Classic.

-Fundraising This is an underused resource at MRU. Team fundraising can go along way in helping with costs for everyone. Potential ideas include...
All of these funds can go directly to offset tournament fees, coach travel, and team travel. If enough money is raised it can even go toward general team fees! Please take full advantage of these opportunities. Not only will you generate funds for your teams, but it will be a great team building experience for them outside of the soccer field! -Travel We live an in absolutely amazing place. Unfortunately in the world of youth soccer this amazing place means we will be traveling an awful lot for games! With more than half of our games on the road every year, travel becomes a major factor in the season. With this in mind we recommend appointing a "team travel agent" for each team. This person would be in charge of securing a "team rate" at a preferred hotel, as well as providing appropriate directions for the team. If all of the team travel agents work together in order to negotiate larger blocks of rooms it will results in even cheaper hotel rooms. Remember there is strength in numbers! Keys for a Successful Road Trip!
